Jake Smith

Sr Associate Acquisitions & Development

Jake joined Woodbury Corporation in 2015 as an analyst working with the Woodbury Capital Private Equity funds, which include both development and acquisition projects across the country. Jake is now a Director in the Acquisitions and Development Department, with a focus on mixed-use assets. He works as the lead on all aspects of the development process and specializes in financial analysis, deal sourcing, market research, financing, capital structuring, and development management. Jake also works directly with cities for any applicable zoning or entitlements associated with development projects.

Jake previously worked for PriceWaterhouseCoopers – Salt Lake City, on their audit teams focusing on health and real estate companies before transitioning to Zions Bank’s National Real Estate Group. There he provided both construction and term commercial real estate loans across the country.

Jake earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting, a Master of Real Estate Development (MRED), and Graduate Certificate in Urban Planning from the David Eccles School of Business and the College of Architecture + Planning at The University of Utah. Jake is also a licensed real estate agent in the State of Utah.
