Woodbury Corporation Breaks Ground on New Residence Inn in Lincoln Nebraska
SALT LAKE CITY (September 28, 2023) – Woodbury Corporation, a full-service real estate management and development company, today broke ground for a new Residence Inn® by Marriott® in downtown Lincoln, Nebraska. The Residence Inn Lincoln Downtown is strategically positioned in the dynamic Haymarket District near the University of Nebraska, Memorial Stadium, Pinnacle Bank Arena, and several food and beverage establishments. This is the first extended stay hotel in downtown Lincoln and the Haymarket.

Participating with Woodbury in today’s groundbreaking included Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird, President of Lincoln Chamber of Commerce Jason Ball, University of Nebraska Vice Chancellor Mike Zeleny, Jeff Woodbury, senior vice president of acquisitions and development at Woodbury Corporation, Aaron Stitt, General Manager of the Courtyard by Marriott Lincoln Downtown / Haymarket Hotel.
With 122 suites, the hotel will be designed with a custom urban feel, and the guest rooms will have a kitchen and be larger than typical hotel rooms. Amenities include complimentary breakfast, patio fireplace and barbeques and a lobby bar.
The Architect for the building is Line29 Architecture, with interior design done by EDGEiD. Sampson Construction is the general contractor for the new hotel. Woodbury Corporation also owns and operates the adjacent award-winning Courtyard by Marriott Lincoln Downtown / Haymarket.
