  • Improvements Were Also Made to the Nearby River Walk Trail System to Create a More Enjoyable Experience for Walkers, Hikers and Bikers

SALT LAKE CITY (October 2, 2017) – Woodbury Corporation, a full-service real estate development and management company, along with its partner the Walker Family, today announced the grand opening of a new SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Idaho Falls. The new hotel is located at 665 Riverwalk Drive, right along the Snake River and just south of the Diamond Award-winning Residence Inn by Marriott, which is also operated by Woodbury Corporation.

The new 124-room SpringHill Suites by Marriott was designed for both business and leisure travelers. It features large suites with separate areas for working, sleeping and living and spa-quality bathrooms. Guests can take advantage of a wide range of amenities, including business services, complimentary Wi-Fi, same-day dry cleaning, guest laundry facilities, an indoor swimming pool with whirlpool, an outdoor patio area with a fire pit and a fitness center. Unique to SpringHill Suites is the S-Canvas Digital Gallery. This art installation is made of 3 flat-panel interactive screens that incorporate art, light and movement, but also provides information about the area such as restaurants, shopping, local attractions, temperature and more.

The hotel also has two meeting rooms with more than 1,170 square feet of space to accommodate gatherings of up to 40 people, with catering available if needed. Bjoern Jaeger, who earned the 2015 General Manager of the Year award for the entire Residence Inn brand while managing the Residence Inn Idaho Falls, will serve as the general manager for the new hotel.

“Over the years we’ve had a great experience serving visitors to Idaho Falls, and we’re excited to offer guests even more options to choose from as they plan their stay in this beautiful community,” said Guy Woodbury, senior vice president of hospitality at Woodbury Corporation. “Every detail, from the stylish décor to the convenient amenities to the delicious breakfast menu has been carefully selected to help make sure our guests have the best possible experience.”

“The SpringHill Suites property is part of a new wave of development and redevelopment in our city’s downtown corridor,” said Idaho Falls Mayor Rebecca Casper. “Idaho Falls has the right mix of business, recreation, and leisure travel to keep occupancy rates strong throughout the year. And, particularly in the summer months, increased tourist travel results in brisk economic transactions throughout the city’s service sector. We are excited for the newest Marriott property to become a part of our community.”

In-line with Marriott’s core value of protecting natural resources, and educating associates and guests to be conscience of the environment, improvements were also completed to the nearby River Walk trail system so both guests and locals can easily enjoy the beautiful falls and scenery along the Snake River.

In addition to the 40 full-time jobs and increased tourism opportunities the new hotel brings to Idaho Falls, this project includes the installation of a new quarter-mile road along the Snake River through Taylor Crossing on the River, increasing accessibility to the city.
