SALT LAKE CITY (December 22, 2015) – O. Randall Woodbury, CPM, president and CEO of Woodbury Corporation, a full-service real estate development company in Salt Lake City, Utah was honored with the 2015 J. Wallace Paletou Award by the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM®) Foundation.

The J. Wallace Paletou Award is presented to an individual who has made significant contributions to the real estate management industry or contributed to the betterment of society as a whole through the role of a real estate manager. The winners of this award have demonstrated leadership and professionalism and have impacted their community through a variety of channels and actions. Nominations for the award are considered annually, although the award is only given out as merit allows.

“I have spent my career in real estate management, and I can truly say I have loved what I do and the people have worked with,” said Woodbury. “I’ve seen time and time again the positive impact this work can have on communities, which makes it easy to want to work hard and set a good example. It’s a humbling thing to be recognized for simply doing work that I have loved and believed in, and I sincerely thank IREM for this honor.”

Woodbury has served as president and CEO of Woodbury Corporation since 2011. The company currently owns, controls, or manages more than 13 million square feet of property across 12 states. Under Woodbury’s leadership, the company has actively sought out projects that have a positive impact on the community, such as mixed use, assisted living, research parks and more.

In addition to his work at Woodbury Corporation, Woodbury has volunteered in a number of other professional endeavors. These include mentoring students for NAR’s Realtor University; participating on the Brigham Young University Facilities and Property Management Advisory Council; and serving as IREM National President in 2010. In recognition of his many contributions to the industry, the Utah Chapter of the IREM has established an education scholarship in Woodbury’s name.

“Randy is truly an exceptional example of what we look for in a J. Wallace Paletou Award winner,” says Lori Burger, CPM®, 2015 IREM National President, Eugene Burger Management Corporation, AMO®, Rohnert Park, California. “Real estate management is much more than just building and owning; it’s about finding ways to help elevate and improve communities.
